Mini-update

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Just a few quick things:

I went to GDC this year and it was a good experience. I’ll try and do a write up soon.

Last week I got the opportunity to go to an advance screening of Dreamwork’s “How to Train Your Dragon” and it was really great as a 2D film; everyone at DW did beautiful work and I’m looking forward to checking out the 3D version to see how it compares.

I’m now fully digitally outfitted with a brand new Android phone, Twitter account, and Deviant Art page. Between all of those things and Facebook and Flickr and Vimeo and this site, I’m still trying to sort out what content I post where and why. I sure feel like a real San Franciscan though.

New content

There’s a couple new drawings in my “other work” section. I had a really good semester of life drawing, so I expect I’ll be adding a few more in next week when I get my portfolio back. I still haven’t updated my reel, and I’m not exactly sure when I’ll be able to; the games I’ve been working on haven’t been released yet. Hopefully I’ll at least have the new dialogue shot I’m working on up in the next couple of weeks.

IE6 breaks my site a bit

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

It has just come to my attention that there’s a bit of a hitch in IE6 that causes my left hand column, site navigation and all, to go wandering down to the bottom of the page. Please be patient while I track down the problem, or get your self a non-Microsoft browser. Firefox is my personal favorite. In the meantime, please enjoy RobotJohnny’s take on the situation:

ie6 can't play

Well that could have gone better

There was some site downtime today while I manually updated to the newest WordPress version. One day WP’s automatic update feature will work. Heck, I’d start paying for WP if they could promise me that.

Quick update

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

I did a quick update on the design section today. I liked the more conversational tone of the old page, but I just wasn’t getting it updated frequently enough. So I’ve changed it into another gallery page. I’ll be doing another WP update soon, so hopefully that will also allow me to remove some of the rough edges on the gallery interface.

Spam comments

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

In case you are wondering why all comments on this blog are held for approval before being published, my Siggraph post from the summer received 14 spammer posts just this week. So I’ll be keeping the comment holds on, despite the amusing qualities of page-long lists of links to “simpson’s porn.”
